Back in February, we started a "Blog Relay Race" and asked bloggers to tag one another with chocri creations. Lots of foodie bloggers participated, and we saw some excellent new chocri bars.

The results are in!

By the time the race slowed down, the women came in ahead by a margin of eight bars. The men didn't do too badly either, and came in with some very interesting entries, too.

The finish line...

Since the race ended, we've been busy ordering the Blog Race bars from Germany and logging all the info so everyone gets their bars. (Seriously, it was a lot of bars.) If you participated, hopefully you got an e-mail from us this week requesting your contact info. (If you didn't, drop me a line at kim@chocri.com so I can get your bar to you!

Thanks for playing, and keep an eye on the blog for future chocri contests.

Blog Race: The Return of the Men

Author: Carmen | February 17, 2010 | Blog-Race

The men are coming back! Still behind, but bars are being designed and bloggers are being tagged.

Recent additions to the male roster: The Candy Gurus, a blog full of unusually manly candy reviews, made two yummy bars:

Blog Race Off To A Fresh Start

Author: Carmen | February 4, 2010 | Blog-Race

Welcome back - we had a short break in our blog race, which we used to build a nifty blograce-page that lists all the bars that have been made.

The Blog Relay Race

As reported before, we started this race between female and male bloggers. Female bloggers are one team, and male bloggers are the other. Once a blogger is tagged by a team member, (s)he tags two more bloggers. "Tagging" means designing a bar for someone - and the best part is - when the race is over, the bloggers get those bars that were created for them! The end of the race is when a team has reached 100 bars first. So far, the ladies are in the lead - can the gents catch up?

The Chocolate Bars

Amazing bars have been created in the process of this race - and it isn't even over yet. Some of the finest food bloggers and connoisseurs have been creating chocolate bars with chocri. That's why we decided to take them out of the comments and emails, and list them neatly on our blograce-page page. Now you can be inspired by their creations, maybe get some ideas on what to gift a man vs. woman, and what toppings complement each other well.

We are looking forward to all the other amazing bars that will be created in this race. Who do you think will win the race?

"Boys Drool, Girls Rule" - At This Point

*(that title is quoted from @CinnamonSpice, but you knew that)

The Blog Relay Race is lots of fun. Current score at the time of this post:

Female Bloggers: 21 Bars | Male Bloggers: 15 Bars

Today was a little calmer than yesterday, but we're still well on our way to a 100 bars - and at the moment the ladies are in the lead.

For inspiration, a few of the bars below that were made for other bloggers, and then I'll recap the rules.

Bars Made In the Blog Relay Race

Apologies that I can't discuss all the bars here, I'm just randomly picking some because all sounded so great!

Nutmeg Nanny made this bar for Girlichef: "Mexican Hot Chocolate Love" Bar. It is made with a milk chocolate base, organic cane sugar, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, bourban vanilla and mini marshmallows.Delicious! Girlichef hasn't tagged anyone yet, but that'll change soon, right?

A personal favorite is this concoction: "Forager's Delight": [dark chocolate, fig bits, fennel and sea salt] by Sean from Hedonia, which was a reaction to the "Hedonia Special": [dark chocolate with fig bits, sea salt, toasted hazelnuts, caramel chocolate drops and golden pearls] by Single Guy Ben.

Finally, Natashya made, no, not a Hawaiian Bar, but a "Middle Eastern Bar" for DebinHawaii who tagged Kat with her "Spicy Cup of Joe Bar": dark chocolate, goji berries, ground chili, cinnamon and ground coffee beans (I have to try this!), and Kat turned that gift into two quite delicious bars herself... of which I trust we will hear more later.

Aren't those amazing?

Blog Relay Race Rules

  • Once you've been tagged - congrats! You're either on the male or female team! And you've scored a chocri bar, designed especially for you! Help them win, that is - reach 100 bars
  • All you have to do is tag two more people - that is "design a bar* by describing the combination you would make, and let two other bloggers of the same gender know what you made for them
  • We need to keep score here, so please let us know as well. The easiest way to do this is to comment on this post, or email me at carmen@chocri.com
  • Win! Support your team! We're following the fun on Twitter with the hashtag #blograce
  • Get your chocolate bar - I'll get in touch so we can send you the chocolate bar you scored after the race is over
